Effective teaching strategies are essential for any teacher. However, not all teachers have access to all the resources they need to be successful. In this article, I will share with you some of my favorite teaching strategies that work well with students with ASD.
Creating a Learning Environment
When teaching, it is important to create an environment that is conducive to learning. This can be done by ensuring that the classroom is clean and organized, providing materials and resources needed for the class, and having a positive attitude towards learning. It is also important to create a classroom culture in which students feel comfortable asking questions and sharing their ideas. Teaching strategies that can be used to give context include providing explanation of concepts, using visual aids, playing video clips, and allowing students time to share their own experiences. By creating a conducive learning environment and using teaching strategies that give context, teachers are able to help students learn more effectively.
